NWRA: Review of the Refuge & Hatchery Systems—sign on + submit input

This is a friendly reminder about Director’s Order #230 (the National Wildlife Refuge & Fish Hatchery Systems Review) and the best ways to make sure Friends voices are heard. We know there’s been some confusion about what to do with the survey vs. submitting comments vs. the Friends sign-on letter—so here’s our suggestion:
- Friends groups: email a letter to Josh Coursey (recommended): We are encouraging each Friends group to send an email with your group’s station-specific perspective directly to Senior Advisor Joshua Coursey at joshua_coursey@fws.gov. This is the most effective way to share detailed, refuge- or hatchery-specific feedback from your organization.
- Individual Friends members & Friends Groups: complete the survey (encouraged): If individual Friends members would like to provide input, we recommend completing the survey. https://tinyurl.com/mrxwn2am
- Friends groups: sign on to the Refuge Association’s Friends sign-on letter (in addition to #1): Please also sign your Friends group onto the Refuge Association’s Friends sign-on letter (deadline Friday, January 30 at 5 pm ET) to show broad solidarity and community support behind our refuges and hatcheries.

Thank you for everything you do for your refuge or hatchery and for the System as a whole. If you’re willing, please save a copy of what you submit (screenshots or a PDF are great) and reply to this email at nwra@refugeassociation.org to share it with us—your insights will help inform our broader consideration of the Refuge System review. If you have questions, you’re welcome to reply here as well.
