Director Order 230 – Survey

The Director of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Brian Nesvik, announced a review of the National Wildlife Refuge System and the National Fish Hatchery System. Details about the review are in Director’s Order 230.

Joshua Coursey is leading the review of the Refuge System. On January 15th CORFA and NWRA hosted a Zoom call with Joshua and Friends. Here’s the recording of the call. During the call we were informed that Friends will receive a survey. Friends groups are starting to receive the survey. If you haven’t seen it already it will go to your organization’s email address. Please monitor your email for the survey, your input is important.

Be aware that you must answer “YES” to Question 3 to see Questions 5 through 10. Questions 9 and 10 are open-ended questions where you can provide detailed feedback.

The survey will remain available until February 6th.

You are encouraged to share the survey link with your members and partners.

250 people joined the call with Josh, which shows everyone is committed to their refuge. So please let Josh and Director Nesvik know the importance of your site to you, our organization, and your community.

Thanks for being a champion the Refuge System needs.
